Residential House in Point Cook

A guest house at the front of a family home on a trapezoidal corner lot. The project domesticates a suburban fringe condition through cover, enclosure, opening, area and axis—using moments of solid and void to move between protected interiors and the landscape beyond.

Project narrative

The fringe lot

The 707-square-metre trapezoidal site sits at the edge of a suburban block, facing a roundabout and an open field to the south. Its irregular boundary and prominent electrical box become design constraints rather than leftover conditions.

Project narrative

Care in a changing village

Urban migration has left many elderly residents in rural China with limited material support, care and companionship. The thesis proposes a shared facility on the outskirts of Huzhou, in Zhejiang's water-rich Jiangnan region.

02 / About

Designing the frame, leaving room for life.

Fan Fei is an architectural & graphic designer working across civic, residential and community projects.

Each project starts with careful observation: of the existing city, of landscape and of everyday patterns. The result is architecture that aims to feel inevitable rather than imposed—precise, calm and open to change.
